The war game track is back for 2026!<\/p>\n

This year we will be teaching and playing The Battle of the Five Armies.<\/strong> This standalone game is\u00a0 based on the climax of JRR Tolkien’s novel The Hobbit<\/em> \u2013 and pits the boss\u00a0 of the Elvenking, the Dwarves of Dain Ironfoot, and the Men of the Lake led by Bard the Bowman against a horde of Wolves, Goblins and Bats led by Bolg, son of Azog. \u00a0<\/p>\n

This 2 player game will use the official rules as set down by Ares Games here:<\/p>\n

How to play<\/h5>\n
Report to the designated area for a round at the announced time. The GM will coordinate multiple games during each time slot. Please bring a copy of the game if you have one.\u00a0<\/div>\n
We will assign players to opponents who they have not played before and who have similar records.<\/div>\n
\u00a0<\/div>\n
After three rounds the best 4 players will advance to a semi-final, followed by a final. If turnout is low, at the GM’s discretion we may skip the semi-final and go straight to a final on Friday evening.\u00a0<\/div>\n
