Game Versions & SETUP<\/h5>\n

All heats, the Semi-Final, and the Final will use the Base game only.<\/p>\n

All games will use the Light Speed Variant<\/strong>. Be sure you are familiar with this variant before beginning play.<\/p>\n

Remove the GORDON 7981-G<\/strong> from the deck.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Number of Players<\/h5>\n

Most games will be played with 4 players, with 5-player games as needed to fill out the tables. Players should seat themselves randomly at the table.<\/p>\n

HEATS<\/h5>\n

There will be three preliminary heats, followed by the semi-final and final.<\/p>\n

Elimination Rounds<\/h5>\n
    \n
  1. If more than 35 players have participated, the 16 players with the best record will advance to the semi-final, which will consist of four 4-player games. Winners of each semi-final table will advance to the final game.<\/li>\n
  2. If 20-34 players have participated, the 12 players with the best record will advance to the semi-final, which will consist of three 4-player games. Winners of each semi-final table will advance to the final game. The best 2nd place amongst the tables will also advance.<\/li>\n
  3. If less than 20 players have participated,\u00a0the 8 players with the best record will advance to the semi-final, which will consist of two 4-player games. First and second places from each table will advance to the final game.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Tie Breakers<\/span><\/p>\n

    At the end of the game, the player with the most victory points wins. If more than one player is tied for first, play another round.<\/p>\n

    If players are still tied, the following tiebreakers should be used:<\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Least Colony cards purchased<\/li>\n
    2. Highest income<\/li>\n
    3. During a heat, if players are still tied, both players will receive the placement. In the semi-final, both of the tied winners may advance if we can accommodate them, but the final game will not contain more than 5 players. Consult the GM.<\/li>\n
    4. In the Final game, players will continue to play rounds until there is a clear winner.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
